Located in Vineland, Ontario Featherstone Vineyard is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of David Johnson and Louise Engel. Situated on 23 acres, this vineyard provides the Bench component to our Sauvignon Blanc. Three soils types are found here: limestone; clay and shale. These ideal soils, coupled with the moderate effect of the natural air drainage, give beneficial attributes to the upper bench portion of the "Twenty Mile Bench" appellation. The wonderful aspect of using grapes from this vineyard is Dave and Louise's devoted pursuit of achieving a respectable balance of eco-friendly practices within the vineyard for obtainment of quality fruit production. An insecticide free zone, Featherstone vineyards cleverly employs sustainable farming practices that includes birds of prey, sheep and, of course, a love of the land, to manage the day-to-day operations.
